Sunrises For…

The idea for this series came to me a long time ago... several years back. You might remember there was a wonderful cartoon in Soviet times, "Robbery, Style Of...". It told a few stories about robberies, and each robbery was special, unique in its own way: one was done the French way, one the American way, and one even the Italian way... I don't remember anymore why that cartoon came to mind, but that's exactly where it all began. I decided to make a series called "Sunrises For...". I've shot a great many sunrises, and they were all different. But now and then I witnessed something truly astonishing. Not nearly as often as I'd have wished... but I did. Sunrises like that are unlike any other. They're unique. It's as if they were made for someone. Made with a purpose and a meaning I don't know. And for someone I don't know.
